In 1927, The Monarch Press began in the basement of Paul Jahn's
house. Soon Paul's son, Howard, moved the business into a small
strip mall in Detroit.
For the next 40 years, as the company grew, technology continued
to change, from ditto masters and duplicating systems to unit sets.
To meet the growing demand for expanding services, Monarch eventually
took over the entire strip mall.
In 1975, The Monarch Press moved to the small community of Grass Lake, Michigan.
Continuous forms and impact printing flooded the market. In 1978, Howard's sons, Bob
and Jon, took over the helm.
By the late 80's, laser printers, fax machines and electronic communications
hit the market. This technology demanded dramatic changes in our
printing process to meet our clients' needs.
Today, we are printing direct mail, integrated and business products
used by today's high-tech business world. Monarch has expanded operations
to a larger facility located at 9353 Lee Road in Grass Lake.
